October 2004 - Facilitators
Network Singapore (FNS) formed.
The Facilitators Network Singapore (FNS) was started as an informal network of facilitators in 2003 by Ms. Janice Lua and Mr. Prabu Naidu. It grew from an initial group of 30 people to 150 people. In 2004 FNS was formally registered as a partnership for the purpose of managing its finances. Since then, the network has continued to expand rapidly to about 500 people in Singapore and 300 people in the region.
In 2006 FNS was converted to a 'Private Limited Company ' so as to limit the liabilities of its non-renumerated founders. Being a Pte Ltd company will also allow for independant accounting disclosures and taxation calculations, enhancing corporate governance.
The reason FNS is able to continue functioning is because of the selfless contributions of other founding members who volunteer their time and effort to plan and deliver FNS events, supported by part-time administrators and volunteers when necessary.
