Volunteer Facilitators from FNS in action at North West District Meeting 2008 
24 May 2008 - The District Meeting (DM) is an annual platform for North West CDC to present its performances in FY 2007 and to share with key stakeholders the CDC's future workplans. It is also an avenue for the CDC to collect suggestions and feedback from stakeholders. These ground-up initiatives will be formulated into future plans for the North West community. 

This year, the DM took on the theme of a Cafe. Prior to the DM proper, stakeholders were involved in small group discussions on topics based on CDC's three key thrusts; namely Assisting the needy; Bonding the people; and Connecting the community while enjoying a fine cuppa and assortment of treats. Key findings from the discussion were then presented during the DM. About 300 representatives from the grassroots organisations, community and corporate partners attended the event hosted by Dr Teo Ho Pin, Mayor of North West District.

Wednesday 10th March 2010  at YWCA 7pm to 10pm fee: SGD30 per pax to cover meals and venue.
 
This FNS event is for people who are into Research (academia, thinkers, avid readers,new entrants) and Practice (consultants, practitioners, do-ers, veterans) interested in exploring new possibilities on emerging cutting edge topics from recent research & publications. 
 
To participate and benefit from this Research to Practice Bridging Forum, you are required to bring two copies of a contemporary article from established magazines, journals or books and engage in a facilitated conversation on the implications and applications of the topic.
 
The benefits of participating in this Research to Practice Bridging Forum include:
 
a) Exposure to the latest thoughts and developments in the Social Sciences particularly OD & HRD.
b) Cross share implications of the emergent theories that you have read.
c) Contextualise the theories to local public, private & non-profits sector scenarios.
d) Generate ideas for application of the emergent theories.
e) Create new 'products and services' from the ideas generated.
 
 
Join us in distilling wisdom and harvesting for immediate application!
 
Agenda:
7:00pm - Arrivals, Snacks & Introductions. Exchange of reading/reference material from recent literature - individual reading.
7:30pm - Cafe discussion of the reading.
8:15pm - Ambassadorial sharing on implications in practice of the emergent theory/research.
9:15pm - Plenary discussion and closure.
10:00pm - End.
